Serverless. Adminless. Decentralised. Uncompromised.
Welcome to Plebbit, a decentralised, peer-to-peer Social Media platform.
Welcome to Plebbit, a decentralised, peer-to-peer Social Media platform.
Plebbit is a serverless, adminless, decentralised and infinitely scalable Social Media platform that is peer-to-peer and open-source.
By using 'Public Key Based Addressing' and a peer-to-peer pubsub network, Plebbit can scale infinitely without compromising on security, performance, or decentralisation.
Centralised control of Social Media threatens our ability to freely share information and opinions, underscoring the need for a platform that is truly resistant to censorship.
When you use Plebbit, you're presented with a list of boards where you can post, known as 'communities' or 'subplebbits'. Unlike centralised platforms however, each subplebbit is created and managed by individual users, with no global admins or moderators.
Since there are no global admins, the administrative control of a subplebbit rests solely with its creator. No one else can moderate content or accounts unless the subplebbit creator grants them permission.
Want to discuss a particular subject but don't see a subplebbit for it? No problem, just create one! We offer a step-by-step guide on the process.
A client is an application that enables users to engage with the Plebbit platform. While the content and data posted on the platform remains the same regardless of client, each one offers a distinct UI (User Interface).
Whether you prefer the original Reddit interface, or Yotsuba-style imageboards such as 4chan, each client provides a different way for people to engage with the platform.
Plebbit is a completely open-source project, meaning anyone can develop their own client on top of the platform. Read the Whitepaper, explore the Github, and get in contact with the Plebbit team if you have any questions on getting started.
